Why did you decide to hire a professional pet moving service?
I needed to have my daughter's dog, Sitka, transported from San Antonio, TX to Charleston, SC on very short notice.
How did you hear about PWP and why did you pick PWP to help with the move?
I found them on a Google search and after visiting their website I knew they would be a great fit! This as a stressful time for my daughter (being deployed in the US Air Force) and also recently learning that Sitka has lymphoma. On top of all of this, we were in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, and my husband and I didn't feel safe traveling. Sarah responded to my note on her website within hours that they could help us - and within a few days Sitka was on the road.
How would you explain our process to someone who is thinking of using our services?
Pets with Passports could not have been better. Sarah gave us a few options to get Sitka to Austin (including them picking her up in San Antonio - which they did). We had a long 3-way call with Sarah within an hour of hearing from her initially. Sarah thoroughly explained how she and her business partner, Elaine, would travel to us with Sitka giving us all the details to make us feel comfortable with the process and trip.
What did you appreciate most about working with Sarah?
I can't narrow it down to one thing! Sarah was in touch with us constantly with texts, calls, and routes! We knew her exact route and how the nights would be spent in hotels (including Sitka sleeping on the bed with her at night). Sarah is incredibly warm, very compassionate to our situation, and both my daughter and I had complete confidence in their ability to get Sitka to us safely.
What was the biggest surprise you encountered moving your pet(s)?
The biggest surprise was how easy Pets with Passports made the entire process for us.
How have your pets adjusted to their move? Is the country/city you moved to considered pet friendly?
Sitka has made the adjustment very well. We are her "grandparents" so she knows and trusts us but we have moved to a different city/state since she last spent time with us. Charleston is very pet friendly.
If someone called you and asked "Why should I hire Pets with Passports" what would you tell them?
You should hire them because they will take extraordinarily great care of your pet. They are clearly huge animal lovers and highly dependable. They care very much about their business and pleasing their customers.
Is there anything else you'd like to share about your experience?
From our initial contact with Sarah through to Sitka's arrival we felt they had Sitka and our best interest at heart. It never felt like a "business transaction" - it felt like a friend was driving our dog!
What was the biggest benefit of using a professional pet moving service?
My husband and I didn't have to do this 18 hour drive during a global pandemic. We had considered it, but given our (older) ages we decided it wasn't a good idea. We are incredibly thankful to Sarah and Elaine and could not recommend their services and business enough.
